Highway 3 Battle
The Medicine Hat Cubs Hockey Club has announced that the Cubs will meet up with the Coaldale Copperheads in a Preseason home and home exhibition tilt. The first game will be played on Friday, Sept. 21 in Medicine Hat at the Kinplex starting at 8pm. The second match up will be played on Sunday, Sept. 23 in Coaldale starting at 1pm.

Schedule Released
The Medicine Hat Cubs will open up the 2007-08 season on the road in Airdrie on Friday, Oct. 5 at 8pm. The Cubs home opener will be on Sunday, Oct. 14 at 2:30pm versus the Cochrane Generals at the Kinplex. On October 19 the Cubs hit the road for a rematch of last years South Final vs the Okotoks Bisons. On December 2nd at 2pm the Cubs will meet up with the Rimbey Rock who are back in the HJHL after a years leave of absence. The Cubs and Airdrie Thunder have to settle on one more game and that will be announced soon.

For the second straight year the Medicine Hat Hockey Hounds will be the Cubs major sponsor. The club thanks the Hockey Hounds for their generous support. We look forward to working with you this season to make it even more successful this year.

Cubs announce Coaching Staff
The Hockey Hounds Junior B Cubs have annouced the rest of their coaching staff for the upcoming season. Coming back is Grant Vaughan who will be working with the defense. Grant was a great help all last season and is welcomed back. The rookie assistant coach is not quite a rookie if you look at his past coaching days. Dale Lanz will join the club and will bring tons of experience to the team coaching over 20 years in the hat. He has coached the likes of Trevor Linden and Chris Osgood. Dale will be upfront running the forward lines. Sean Freeman will be the teams Athletic Therapist/Equipment Manager. The club is very lucky to have Sean onboard. He brings alot to the team, he will be a big help for the coaches and the players. Coach Dave is very confident in this years coaching staff. More info on the coaching staff plus pictures will be available soon.

The Medicine Hat Hockey Hounds Junior B Cubs have announced a change in the start of an upcoming home game. Please make note the Feb. 3rd game at home vs the Okotoks Bisons has been moved from 4:30pm to 2:30pm. The game will be as scheduled for the Kinplex. It is the 3rd meeting of the year between these long time rivals. The Cubs lead the season series 2-0. The Cubs won both games at the Murray Arena in Okotoks by scores of 7-5 and 7-6 in OT.

Kowalchuk steps down as Coach
The Medicine Hat Cubs Hockey Club has announced that Head Coach Dave Kowalchuk has been accepted to Fire Fighting College and will not be back for the 2008-2009 season. In 2 seasons with the Cubs Dave lead the club to an impressive (49-15-5-3) record finishing in 2nd place both seasons.
